The Stratford-upon-Avon Symphony Orchestra was founded over fifty years ago. We are a large and very friendly orchestra which performs a wide variety of well known (and some less well known) works largely from the classical repertoire from the 17th to the 20th century. Its size and standards have made steady progress; there are currently just over sixty playing members.

We rehearse weekly on Friday evenings (7.45pm – 10.00pm) in Shottery Village Memorial Hall (free parking) and give around 3 concerts a year in Stratford-upon-Avon with occasional additional performances at local festivals. We also run an annual open Playday event.

If you are interested in joining us please complete this form here describing your standard/experience and instrument and we will reply and at least add you to our waiting list if we don’t have room.  We currently have specific vacancies for cellos, percussion and french horn and can generally accommodate additional strings.  We don’t have any formal auditions and the first term is free to give you a chance to see if the orchestra is right for you.
