About Us

The Stratford-upon-Avon Symphony Orchestra was founded over fifty years ago. We are a large and very friendly orchestra which performs a wide variety of well known (and some less well known) works largely from the classical repertoire from the 17th to the 20th century. Its size and standards have made steady progress; there are currently just over sixty playing members.

We rehearse weekly on Friday evenings (7.45pm – 10.00pm) in Shottery Village Memorial Hall and give around 3 concerts a year in Stratford-upon-Avon with occasional additional performances at local festivals. We also run an annual open Playday event.
